Research Papers
Research papers in the field of systematic theology (dogmatics, fundamental theology and moral theology) or systematic philosophy (philosophy of religion, metaphysics and ethics) in German or English can be submitted via this website. Papers from other fields of theology and philosophy are possible, provided they deal with the research topic from a systematic point of view and are relevant to the current scientific discussion. Research papers from the intersection of theology and philosophy are particularly welcome.
In addition to the systematic orientation, your manuscript must meet the following criteria:
- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
- The length of the paper should be between 45,000 and 60,000 characters (including spaces). Longer texts can be returned for shortening.
- The carefully prepared text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographical requirements of this journal outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- The submission file is in “.docx” or “.rtf” file format
- The uploaded file has been anonymised for the review process (both in the text and in the file's media data).
- The manuscript must include two abstracts, one in German and one in English, each with a maximum of 1000 characters (including spaces). The abstracts are followed by a maximum of seven key words (both in German and English), separated by commas.
Research papers are subject to double-blind peer review by at least two referees.
If your paper is published in Zeitschrift für Theologie und Philosophie the rights to the text are transferred to the publisher.
Book Reviews
Book reviews draw attention to important new publications from the areas of systematic theology and systematic philosophy, and provide a first critical evaluation of the work investigated. ZTP publishes only book reviews that fit the systematic focus of the journal; special fields of interest are dogmatics, fundamental and moral theology, philosophy of religion, metaphysics and ethics.
The length of the reviews should be between 6000 and 10,000 characters (including spaces). The layout of the texts must follow the Author Guidelines.
Book reviews should be clarified in advance with the responsible book review editor.
