Abstract
The internal relationship between religious identity, religious truth-claims and religious plurality is considered problematic. The following text analyses the concepts of truth, identity and religion/religious identity. It further proposes an objective-realist conception of each according to which truth and identity are independent of merely personal-subjective attitudes and religion cannot be separated from a realistic concept of truth. Finally, the possible threats of such an objective conception for interreligious dialogue and peace and the autonomy of believers will be dealt with.
