Abstract

Under the headline of what he calls “hermeutical realism”, Anton Friedrich Koch has developed a perspectivist theory of knowledge and consciousness that seems to entail several obstacles for the belief in the omniscient God of Classical Theism. This paper asks whether perspectivism really entails such bitter consequences. Furthermore, it raises the question whether monistic-idealistic ontologies and alternative concepts of God might be in a position to sign off on Koch’s premises while at the same time retaining the concept of God.
