Confessions of a Metaphysical Realist

Abstract

In philosophical debates, metaphysical realism is attacked from different sides for different reasons. This has far-reaching consequences for the understanding of theology. On the basis of a critique of realism, Saskia Wendel and Martin Breul advocate a particular understanding of theology. Their criticism is not convincing for philosophical reasons, and the consequences of their approach are undesirable from a theological point of view.
