Metaphysical Realism and the Correspondence Theory of Truth

Abstract

Martin Breul has presented a critique of metaphysical realism. Unfortunately, the critique is not convincing because it is directed against a straw man and Breul himself presupposes metaphysical realism. Since the actual motive of Breul’s critique is the fear that analytical metaphysics claims to proclaim absolute truths, the present contribution, after a critique of Breul’s conception of metaphysical realism, ends with a clarification of the truth claim made in analytical metaphysics.
